Chiropractic Care in Chicago

Chiropractic Care

We are in network with BCBS, Aetna, and Medicare. Very often, we do accept out-of-network benefits from other carriers. We are not in network with UHC and most HMOs unless you are with Amita. If you're not sure, call our office at (773) 665-4400, and our friendly staff will be more than happy to verify your insurance prior to your arrival.

At ReAlignMed we treat you as a whole. For our chiropractic patients we offer two types of care. Relief care and corrective care. With relief care you basically come in for your chiropractic treatment on an as needed basis, until relief is obtained. Corrective care has a more structured approach designed to help any spinal issue that requires correction.
On your first visit Dr. Georgiou does a thorough consultation followed by an examination and lastly X-Rays if warranted. At this visit, he will let you know if he can help you and if our office is the right fit for you.

On your second visit, Dr. Georgiou goes over your exam and x-ray findings. At this time, you decide to pick what type of care you are seeking: Relief or Corrective. We will go over your treatment plan and most importantly we start your treatment.
Spinal manipulation is a vital part of your treatment plan. Other modalities will be performed to help you get the best possible outcomes.

Other modalities:
Muscle stimulation coupled with ice and/or heat therapy for pain management.
Posture pump (mechanical traction) to help those patients restore the proper curves in either your neck or low back. (Please see video below)

Stretching protocols to help the sore muscles and increase range of motion Strengthening the involved muscles to secure that the corrections made stay in place.

Eventually, our patients will enter a supportive phase and lastly a maintenance phase of their care.

What is chiropractic care?

Various forms of manipulation have been used therapeutically for centuries. However, it wasn’t until the 1800s that scientific basis for the practice was established, and the word ‘chiropractic’, a translated form of the Greek words cheir and praktos, which essentially mean ‘done by hand’, was established.

Chiropractic care refers to the manual manipulation of the body with the purpose of alleviating problems with the musculoskeletal system. The musculoskeletal system comprises of the bones, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, joints and other connective tissues that provide shape, support, stability and movement in the body. When there are problems within the musculoskeletal system, it can cause mild, chronic or extreme pain, limited mobility, and difficulty in carrying out our usual day to day tasks.

A chiropractor can treat a variety of spinal conditions and their side effects by manipulating the spine by hand – a process that sounds much more intense and painful than it really is. In actual fact, spinal manipulation is a precise, swift adjustment that aims to release the pressure on the nerves in your back. In doing so, the body can begin to heal itself.
