Understandably, some people will have some apprehension and anxiety over what to expect at a chiropractic office on their first visit. Read below for the low-down on what your first visit with us will comprise of:
Upon entering the office, our upbeat front desk staff will greet you and have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. You can download them prior to your visit by clicking the link here. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. You will also fill out a few forms based on what kind of pain you are experiencing, if any, and provide us with your insurance card to see if future visits will be covered by your insurance plan, if applicable.
Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with one of our experienced Chicago chiropractors to discuss your health-related problems, discover what you want to accomplish from care in our office, and if our office is the right place for you.
History and Examination
Next you will receive a thorough examination consisting of orthopedic, neurologic, physical and chiropractic tests. These are simple tests testing your reflexes and movement, and give us insight into your condition.
X-Rays may be used in order to thoroughly evaluate your condition. The doctors will be able to determine if you have arthritis, disc degeneration, pathologies or a condition that may be a contraindication to treatment in our office.
Schedule Your Next Appointment
You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete Report of Findings. The doctor will review your examination results, x-ray studies and make treatment recommendations. The choice of the type of care, Relief or Corrective Care, is made by you. Following your decision you will be provided with your first treatment, which may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies. Insurance coverage and financial arrangements are also discussed on this visit so the finances and costs are never a mystery.
